We are pleased to announce that the LGBT+ Labour North West AGM will be taking place in October. We would encourage all members to attend and consider standing for election.
Date
We can confirm that the next LGBT+ Labour North West AGM will be on Saturday 23rd October, 12pm on Zoom.
Eligibility to vote at the AGM
In order to be able to vote at the AGM, you must have been a fully paid-up member of LGBT+ Labour on or before Monday 13th September.
In order to attend you must register using the link below before Saturday 16th October 2021, 12pm.
You will not be admitted to the AGM unless you have registered and are eligible.
Nominations for the committee positions and eligibility to stand
All of the committee positions for LGBT+ Labour North West are up for election at the AGM:
- Co-Chair (Open Place)
- Co-Chair (Women's Place)*
- Lancashire Representative
- Merseyside and Cheshire Representative
- Greater Manchester Representative
- Campaigns & Events Officer
*Co-Chair (Women's Place) is elected in women's caucus at the AGM.
In order to stand for committee positions, you have to have been a fully paid-up member of LGBT+ Labour on or before Thursday 22nd July 2021.
Caucus representatives will be elected within caucus groups.
Nominations for committee may be accompanied with a personal statement of up to 200 words, which will be included in the paperwork for the AGM.
Nominations for committee need to be received by Saturday 9th October 2021, 12pm. To nominate yourself you need to email [email protected] with your name, the position and your optional statement.
Nominations received after this deadline will not be taken forward to the AGM.
Motions
As part of the AGM we will discuss and vote on policy motions and any amendments to the standing orders.
Motions should be submitted in the following format:
- Title
- This AGM notes
- This AGM believes
- This AGM resolves
Submissions of policy motions and standing order amendments need to be received by Saturday 9th October 2021, 12pm. To submit a motion you need to email [email protected]
Policy motions will be shared ahead of the AGM to allow for any amendments which should be submitted in advance, the deadline for submitting amendments to policy motions will be communicated when the text of the motions are shared.
