Join LGBT Labour for the first of our 2016 campaign days in the North West! We'll be out campaigning on Saturday 30 January for Cllr Richard Critchley, who is defending his Salford City Council seat in the ward of Walkden South. Richard was elected in 2012 by a margin of just 53 votes, and the Tories are fighting hard to win his seat back. So we need a strong turnout to help Richard hang on to his seat.
We'll be meeting at 10.30am on the corner of Tynesbank and Tyne Court, Walkden M28 0SN. We'll be knocking on doors and speaking to residents about local issues. If you're coming by public transport, the meeting point is about half-a-mile's walk from Walkden train station, and the nearest bus stop is Manchester Road East/Tynesbank - this is on the 37 bus route, which runs every 10 minutes from Manchester City Centre, as well as from Bolton.
We'll then break for lunch at 12.30pm, going to the Bull's Head, High Street, Walkden M28 3NJ - there are also a number of cafes and takeaways nearby. We'll then be back on the doorstep at 1.30pm, meeting at on Westminster Road at the end closest to Walkden Road, behind 37 Manchester Road M28 3NS. If you're joining us for the afternoon session, this again isn't far from Walkden train station, and the nearest bus stop (again on the 37 bus route) is Manchester Road/Christ Church. We'll be going for a drink or two afterwards.
We want to get a really good turnout for our first campaign session of 2016, so if you are able to join us then please RSVP on here, or email Chris Wills at email@example.com.
See you there!
