Trans Be A Councillor - Training Session

Are you a trans Labour member? Have you ever thought about standing for your local council? Then this could be the event for you!

As part of LGBT Labour's work with the LGA Labour Group on the LGBT Labour Councillors Network, we are delighted to be hosting our first ever 'Be A Councillor' training session that will be specifically tailored to supporting trans Labour members to stand to be a councillor.

In this afternoon training session we will explore the roles and responsibilities of being a councillor, Labour Party structures, going for selection, and being a candidate. Sessions will be designed and delivered by trans members of the Labour movement.

There is limited funding available for travel bursaries - if you would like to apply for a travel bursary for this event please email our National Secretary, Lewis Addlington-Lee on no later than Thursday 30 April 2019. Once all applications have been received, we will look at how most fairly we can allocate the available funding to support attendees.
