Tackling anti-LGBT Hate Crime

UPDATE: Please note that this meeting is now taking place in Committee Room 11 in the Palace of Westminster - entry is via the Cromwell Green visitor entrance - please allow good time to enter and clear security. http://www.parliament.uk/visiting/directions/layout/

Every week nearly 100 anti-LGBT hate crimes get recorded each week by UK police. Yet, research suggests that one in six lesbian, gay and bisexual people have experienced a hate crime or incident in the last three years. More than three quarters of victims did not report what they had experienced to the police and two thirds didn't report it to anyone. Trans hate crime is wide spread  but highly underreported.

Join LGBT Labour as we debate what a future Labour Government should do to tackle LGBT hate crime; improve reporting and to better support victims and others affected.
