Silence from the Prime Minister on Chechnya is deafening

Today, LGBT Labour Co-Chairs Ian Thomas and Sarah Kerton wrote to the Prime Minister urging her to meet with the Russian Ambassador to end the detention and murder of gay men in Chechnya.

This follows a request sent yesterday to the Shadow Foreign Secretary Emily Thornberry to apply for an urgent question in the House of Commons to be answered next week, along with attendance at yesterday's rally outside the Russian Embassy in London.

LGBT Labour will continue to work with the Labour Party and other LGBT+ organisations to pressure the Prime Minister and her Government to act and end these appalling human rights abuses and murders.
