Lord Cashman: My time as an MEP campaigning for LGBT rights

Due to events in Orlando at the weekend this event has been postponed so that people can go to the Vigil for Orlando in Soho. Apologies for any inconvenience, we will re-arrange this event for a later date.

LGBT Labour and London Young Labour is delighted to host a talk and Q&A with co-founder of Stonewall, former Labour MEP, Labour peer and Labour's International LGBT Rights Envoy, Michael Cashman.

Lord Cashman has spent decades fighting for LGBT rights. He was the first person to have a same-sex kiss on mainstream British TV, while an actor in EastEnders. He went on to found Stonewall with Sir Ian McKellen and others, be elected a Labour MEP and lead the LGBT group in the EU parliament.

He'll be discussing his LGBT rights activism and how the EU protects LGBT people ahead of the referendum. This event is in conjunction with LGBT Labour. It is open to all members, regardless of identity.

The event will be in Room 18 in the Houses of Parliament. This is the Cromwell Entrance. Please leave 10 minutes to pass through security.
