LGBT Labour London

LGBT Labour London is a strong voice for the LGBT community within the London Labour party and campaigns for the Labour party within the LGBT community. We organise events, campaigning activity and work with the Labour party, trades unions, community groups and LGBT community to achieve full equality for LGBT people.

We're listening campaign

In May 2012 London will vote for a new Mayor and members of the London Assembly. LGBT Labour want to hear from you what the Labour candidate in the 2012 election should pledge to do for LGBT people.

During 2010 and 11, we want to hear from you about what is needed to improve the lives of LGBT Londoners. We will use your ideas to inform a manifesto for action on LGBT issues which will be released in the run up to the 2012 Mayoral and London Assembly election. This manifesto will also be sent to the Leader of the Labour groups in all London borough councils.

LGBT Labour London can visit your group and discuss these issues in person. These informal and interactive discussions will be your chance to have your say.

LGBT Labour London committee

The London group is organised by a committee based in the region elected at its own AGM at the start of every year. The London chair represents the region on the national committee.

The committee has set 3 main aims for the year:

1.   Ensure LGBT issues are prominent in Labour 2012 Mayoral election campaign and we help to secure a Labour win in the 2012 elections

2.   Increase London membership and improve participation of members, especially amongst women and non-central London members

3.   Ensure that LGBT Labour London infrastructure is sustainable
