Just before Manchester Pride gets underway, we are delighted to be holding a special joint fundraiser with Stockport Labour Party. It's a screening of the 2014 film "Pride", telling the true story of how a group of London based lesbian and gay rights activists supported striking miners in Wales in the 1984-5 Miners' Strike, and the unlikely friendships that formed as a result. It's a fantastic film, and an important reminder of why Pride events still matter.
The event will take place on Wednesday 22 August at 7pm at Stockport Labour Club, 2 Lloyd Street, Stockport SK4 1QP. Entry is £5 and there will also be a raffle. Proceeds from the night will be split between LGBT Labour and Stockport Labour Party.
Stockport Labour Club is on the 192 bus route from Manchester, and is a 15-minute walk from Heaton Chapel train station. There is also free onsite car parking.
Please RSVP if you can make it - and if you have any queries, please contact the organiser, David Sedgwick, via the details below. See you there!
