LBT Women and health: How do we achieve parity in healthcare?

img-gay-health-01.jpg

LGBT Labour is delighted to host a panel discussion on LBT women and healthcare to mark International Women’s Day. Even in 2018, lesbian, bisexual and transgender women face discrimination in healthcare. With long NHS waiting lists preventing people from accessing treatment they so desperately need and discrimination experienced by lesbian couples attempting to access the same fertility treatments as heterosexual couples, it’s time for a frank discussion on the barriers LBT women face in healthcare.

The event will be chaired by Samantha Jury-Dada, the women’s officer for LGBT Labour and Southwark Councillor. We will be joined by:

  • Angela Eagle MP, former Minister of State and LGBT Labour patron
  • Bex Stinson, Head of Trans Inclusion at Stonewall UK
  • Tina Wathern, National Director of Engagement at Stonewall Housing
  • Alison France, Chair of Trustees for MindOut, a mental health service run by and for LGBTQ people
