Katie is Labour's candidate for Epping Forest. She is a native of essex and still lives there. She has previously been a candidate for the European Parliament in the 2009 elections for the Eastern region.

Kate is a former member of the National Union of Students executive, on which she served as National Women's Officer. She is currently a member of the LGBT Labour executive committee. She works in the trade union movement working on providing support for recession recovery projects.
