Drop the DUP Deal

Theresa May's Conservatives care more about clinging to power than our basic human rights.

They are currently exploring a deal with the Democratic Unionist Party, to use their 10 seats to hold a tiny majority in the Commons. The DUP have continually blocked abortion rights in Northern Ireland, and are virulently anti-LGBT. Let's not let this happen. Let's get the Tories to #DroptheDUP.

Together, we can stop this. Take action today.

E-mail your MP

It's really simple to e-mail your MP about this deal and urge them to vote against the Queen's Speech. Just follow these easy steps:

1. Set up your e-mail
You might already have your MP's email contact, which is great. You can just e-mail them from your own account. Otherwise, visit Write to Them, enter your own postcode, click on your MP and it will take you to an e-mail page.

2. Use our template as a base
No matter if your MP is Conservative, Labour or from another party, we have a template e-mail for you to send. While the template includes the basic information you need, please feel free to edit it, and add your own voice too.

Click on the following links to access the relevant template:

3. Let us know if you receive a response
If your MP responds, please let us know how they respond and if they are intending to vote against the Queen's Speech, by forwarding their response to lgbtlabouruk@gmail.com.

4. Ask your friends
Get your friends and family to e-mail their MPs too. Share this page with them and encourage them to get involved in our campaign.

Share, share, share!

We have graphics, tweets and facebook posts that you can already share via our twitter account, @LGBTLabour, and our Facebook. Please keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter pages for even more.

Make sure to use the #droptheDUP hashtag!

You can also get yourself a twibbon for your Facebook and Twitter profiles here, to show everyone you stand with LGBT Labour: https://twibbon.com/Support/drop-the-dup-deal

Most importantly, don't forget to tweet your MP and ask them to vote against the Queen's Speech.
